Herman Moore, one of the Detroit Lions‘ greatest wide receivers, came up with the concept for Herm & Lo™ in 2021. As an artist and serial entrepreneur, he wanted to do something fun to honor his friendship with Lomas Brown, one of the Detroit Lions’ greatest offensive tackles, whom he met in 1991.
Each blanket in the Herm & Lo™ collection is a canvas where Herman’s artistry and Lomas’s legacy intertwine. These blankets aren’t just cozy wraps; they’re storytelling pieces, weaving together the threads of NFL history and the enduring bond between two gridiron icons.
Herman worked with local artist Larry Dodge, who digitally hand-drew all 32 designs that Herman conceptualized, creating different scenes to depict each of the 32 NFL cities. Each design pokes fun at the opponent while showing Herman and Lomas’s personality and featuring the Lion, who we named “King.”
The Lions blanket (seen above), also known as Gridiron Kings, shows a scene from The Lion King in which Herman and Lomas look out over the savannah, and Herman holds up a football. Within that design are “Easter Eggs” of the other 31 designs.
