Gardner White is proud to announce that we’ve partnered with Michigan-owned and operated Born In Detroit and have designed and furnished their new pop-up storefront in the heart of Detroit at 1275 Woodward across from the Shinola Hotel. The pop-up location will be open daily through April 30, 2024 and features an expanded line of new Born In Detroit merchandise in addition to fan-favorite designs. The official ribbon cutting took place on Friday, March 15 followed by the doors officially opening to the public.
Located at the former site of Moosejaw in Detroit, the 2,000 sq. ft. store is situated right in the middle of the action during some of the biggest events in the city including the NFL Draft, Sweet 16, Elite Eight, and Detroit Tigers Opening Day. Born In Detroit is hosting a series of events including athlete autograph signings, live radio broadcasts, podcast tapings, and happy hours, and is available for private catered events. The store also provides an atmosphere for entertaining and an experience for shoppers.
Born In Detroit’s popular line of apparel is currently available online at BornInDetroit.Store, at Michigan Meijer locations, and the Detroit Metro Airport. The opening of the Detroit pop-up location is the line’s first dedicated storefront and features never-before-seen designs and includes an expanded apparel line for women and kids. The apparel line consists of hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, crossbody bags, tumblers, glassware, and much more.

Born In Detroit was trademarked in 2015 and brought to life in 2020 by a group of true Detroiters, two sets of brothers Michael and Anthony Tomey and George and Alex Bourkoulas, along with their friend, Michael “Mikey” Shumaker. The opening of the pop-up storefront in downtown Detroit enhances Born In Detroit’s mission to showcase the pride of Detroiters near and far, and to highlight that Detroit is more than a city, it is that feeling of pride, hard work, and perseverance. The Born In Detroit pop-up will be open daily for a limited time, March 15- April 30, Monday-Saturday 11am–7pm and Sunday Noon–5pm (hours are subject to change)
